ДЕМБО Григорий Исаакович (1872, Балта Подольской губ. – 1939, Ленинград), врач-гигиенист. По окончании с сереб. медалью Петерб. г-зии поступил на мед. ф-т Моск. ун-та, к-рый окончил в 1896 с отличием. Работал в Моск. земстве, с 1898 в Петербурге, где с 1902 в течение 20 лет работал сан. врачом. В 1902 защитил докторскую дис. на тему «К вопросу об осложнениях при предохранительном оспопрививании». Активно сотр. с Об-вом здравоохранения евреев. В 1917 пред. Всерос. об-ва врачей армии и флота, затем – рук. Петрогр. союза врачей и врачебной секции Медсантруда. С 1922 зав. сан-эпидемиологич. отд. Наркомздрава Туркестанской АССР. С 1926 до конца жизни преподавал в 1-м Ленингр. мед. ин-те (с 1928 – проф., зав. кафедрой социальной гигиены). Вел большую работу в общественно-мед. орг-циях – в комиссиях по изучению алкоголизма, по борьбе с бугорчаткой, с детской смертностью.
