Резко критиковал традиционную жизнь рос. евреев в ав-тобиогр. «Записках еврея» (1871—73). Принимал участие в издании ж. «Рус. еврей» и «Рассвет». Автор пов. и ром., написанных, как и «Записки еврея», с крайне ассимиляционных позиций. Крестился перед смертью. @ru
