БЛАНК Александр Соломонович (1921, Одесса – 1985, Вологда), историк. Д-р ист. наук (1966). В 1938–41 учился на ист. ф-те Одесского ун-та. Летом 1941 добровольцем ушел на фронт. Находясь на излечении после ранения, окончил ун-т экстерном (1942). В 1943–46 работал с нем. военнопленными и антифашистами. С 1946 занимался научно-пед. деятельностью. Был зав. кафедрой и деканом ист. ф-тов во Владимирском и Череповецком пед. ин-тах, зав. кафедрой всеобщей истории Вологодского пед. ин-та, с 1967 проф.
