БЕРНШТЕЙН Осип Самойлович (1882, Житомир – 1962, Париж), шахматист; междунар. гроссмейстер (1950), междунар. арбитр (1952). Д-р права, адвокат. В шахм. соревнованиях участвовал ок. 60 лет; дебютировал на Всерос. турнире 1903 в Киеве (2-е место). На междунар. турнирах в Стокгольме (1906) и Остенде (1907) поделил 1–2 места. С 1920 – в Париже.
