- БЕРЛЯНД Шломо (Соломон) (1866 – 1941, Вожаель Коми АССР), предприниматель, полит. деятель. В 1920–30-х гг. – пред. ЦК сионист. орг-ции Бессарабии, пред. Бессарабского к-та об-ва «Тарбут» и к-та «Керен га-Есод», чл. рук. органов «Ге-Халуц» и ряда др. евр. нац. орг-ций. Чл. рук-ва евр. общины Кишинева. Делегат ряда Всемирн. сионист, конгр. После присоединения Бессарабии к СССР в июне 1940 арестован органами НКВД на квартире своей дочери в г. Черновцы. Особым Совещанием приговорен к 5 годам исправительно-трудовых лагерей, направлен в 11-й лагпункт в пос. Вожаель Коми АССР, где вскоре умер.
