has abstract: БЕГАК Иуда (1820, Вильна – 1900, Херсон), филолог, лингвист. Получил традиц. религ. воспитание. С 1840 занимался гл. обр. разработкой евр. грамматики и рациональной евр. экзегетики. Его ученые труды привлекли к себе внимание евр. общественности. После открытия в 1848 виленского раввинского уч-ща Б. был назначен преподавателем Талмуда. В кон. 50-х поселился в Херсоне, где прожил до конца жизни. @ru

After the opening of the Vilna rabbinical school in 1848, B. was appointed teacher of the Talmud. In the end. 50s settled in Kherson, where he lived until the end of his life. @en
