БАРОН Йосеф Луис (1894, Вильна – |), раввин. С 1907 в США. Образование получил в иешиве. После окончания в 1920 Евр. колледжа – раввин. В 1920–26 занимал должность раввина в Давенпорте (Айова), где он организовал систему обществ, организаций, куда входили евр. филантропические общества, газета и ложа Бней Брит. В 1923 создал первое реформистское религ. братство Цедар Рапиде. В 1926 направлен в общину Милуоки. Б. способствовал основанию синагогальной библиотеки иудаики и организации реформистских религ. общин в Мэдисоне, Вокеше, Джейнсвиле и др. городах штата Висконсин. В 1940 был профессором философии в Милуокском пед. колледже и чл. коллегии управляющих Евр. колледжем.
