БАРБАНЕЛЬ Рувим Исаевич (1909 – 1972, Москва), металлург, конструктор металлургич. оборудования. С 1961 работал во ВНИИ легких сплавов, в течение ряда лет был зам. нач. ин-та. Осн. деятельность связана с плавильно-литейным, прессовым и прокатным произ-вом, а также с термич. обработкой легких авиац. сплавов. Принимал участие в создании прогрессивного термич. оборудования, установок непрерывного литья слитков. В кон. 30-х гг. руководил разработкой конструкции электропечи для получения алюм. сплавов. С 1953 совм. с С.А.Вигдорчиком проводил опытные работы по созданию прессованных заготовок из алюм. сплавов. В 1958 разработал (в соавт.) планшетный метод получения листов алюминия, плакированного медью, использованный в произ-ве крупногабаритных листов алюминий-медь. В 60–70-е гг. руководил конструированием вакуумных электропечей для термообработки полуфабрикатов и изделий из титановых сплавов.
