Diese regelmäßigen Treffen markieren den Beginn des ersten von Bürgern getragenen Kunstvereins. Am 24.01.1822 gibt sich die Gruppe - insgesamt 19 Personen - eine erste Verfassung (im handschriftlichen Protokollbuch von 1822 wird die Gruppe bereits als \"Hamburgischer Kunst-Verein\" bezeichnet). 1848 (nach anderen Angaben am 02.12.1847) endgültige Zusammenlegung des Kunstvereins mit dem „Gemälde-Verlosungs-Verein“. Der gemeinsame Name lautet seitdem Kunstverein in Hamburg.";
