Nach seiner Tätigkeit als Kinderarzt und ärztlicher Direktor der Unikinderklinik Marburg und Freiburg widmete er sich der Erforschung der weitverzweigten Familiengeschichte, die sich in dem Buch „Meines Großvaters Geige“ (Hentrich&Hentrich, 2020) nachlesen lässt.
