- לדברי וולפסון וברי"ל, המו"לים, בדברי ההקדמה לספר זה, כאשר הם הוציאו לאור את המחברת הראשונה משירי תפארת "הבטחנו ואמרנו שנמהר ונחוש מעשינו להדפיס גם שאר המחברות זאת אחר זאת בזמן קצר כפי האפשרי, כי בטחנו ברב טוב ויופי הספר הזה... ובלבבנו אמרנו, בוודאי יקפצו הקונים עליו, ועל ידם הושב יושב לנו הכסף אשר הזלנו מכיסנו להוצאת הדפוס". אך מפאת מיעוט הקונים, "ארכו הימים, כמו שנה ומחצה מיום צאת המחברת הראשונה לאור, עד עתה אשר העיר ה' ברחמיו רוח איזה נדיבי עם בעיר הזאת ובפרטות הגביר המפורסם ויקר רוח ר' שמואל בן ר' שלמה חלפן נר"ו, אשר נשאו לבו להזיל כסף מכיסו כפי מסת הוצאת הדפוס."
