- בהקדמה המחבר מייעד ספר זה לכל מי שרוצה ללמוד או ללמד לשון עברית: "ויהיה בזה תועלת גדול לכל הוגה בזה כתלמיד כמורה להדריך בזה התלמידים הרכים, כפי הדרכים אשר הכינותי ולהרגילה לאט לאט... למען יבין הנער בלבו את אשר ידבר בלשונות הן בעברי' והן באשכנזית... וכל קורא במקהלות עם ה' ינגן וינעים בריאה נעימה וצחה... ובזה קרן לשונינו הקדושה תרומם... ואז יהפך לב האבות על בנים ללמדם ספר ולשון עברית, תחת אשר ילמדם אך לועזית וצרפית לבד".
