- Yashe Bronshteyn served in the Red Army in 1919, he joined the Communist party in 1925, and was the representative of the Yiddish section of the Russian Association of Proletarian Writers. From 1932 professor at Minsk University, he was also a fellow at the Institute of Literature and Arts of the Belorussian Academy of Sciences. Bronshteyn published in periodicals such as "Pravda" and "Literaturnaia Gazeta". He was known for his bitter polemics against Yiddish literati of the Kiev circle. He died during Stalin's purges in 1937.
