Notes by Chaim Meiselman: This volume (Leḳeṭ ha-ḳemaḥ) is Moses Hagiz's commentary to select passages in the Mishnah; it is the first printing, not to be confused with the commentary of the Shulhan Arukh by the author with the same title. The author was a Jerusalemite and a rabbinical figure in the Tripartite Communities (שלש קהלות אה"ו) of Altona, Hamburg, and Wandsbek in Germany. Ending the volume is a mini-treatise on ethics by the author, and the ethical will of the author's father - Jacob Hagiz - called 'Zikaron le-Bene Yisra'el', who died in 1674.
