All notes by Chaim Meiselman: notes This is a work chiefly dealing with Halakhic reasoning on the order of Maimonides in the Mishneh Torah; it sources both the medieval and early-modern Halakhists as part of a discourse. For example, a longer and evolving discourse often ends with latter-day Poskim (i.e. Halakhic decisors) such as Shabbetai ha-kohen or David ha-levi, both 16th and 17th century Halakhists. The author was a rabbinical figure in Thessaloniki during the first half of the eighteenth century. He wrote a number of works, some Halakhic and some homiletic and sermonic. references Benjacob, I.
