Notes by Chaim Meiselman: Chronograms from each volume: Vol. 1 - ‫ ל’ך אני הו’שיעני כ’י’ פק’ו’דיך דרשת’י [תקע"ב]. ‬Vol. 2 - שמות, [ויקרא]. לך אני הוש’יעני כי פקוד’יך דר’שתי [תקע"ד]. Haskamah on the edition from Yisrael-Leyb Mirkes of Minsk, Mosheh b. Yisra'el of Kopys, Tsvi-Hirsh b. Ya'akov of Smolyany, dated Friday 6 Adar, 1812. Full folio of diagrams depicting the Midrashic arguments of the measurements and shapes of Noah's ark; Vol. 1, folio no. 35. Blue-gray paper; honorary device on the center of the title for Alexander I. An ark, with two chalices surrounding the apex and large urns to each side, models "AP" (Aleksandr Pavlovich) with a crown above. A bird rests on the apex. Similar folio editions of the Midrash with commentaries were created in the Pale-of-Settlement area during the turn of the 18th-19th centuries; Mynkivtsi (1799), Ostrog (1805), Zolkiew (1808), Lemberg (1808), Mogilev (1809), Berdichyv (1811), Sudylkiv (1820), among others. These were typeset in the form created for the folio Midrash editions in Germany, 1700-1750 ca., in which many of the commentaries surrounding the text were printed for the first time.
