The bookstamp reads: יצחק מאיר ב"ר ישעי' סגל(?) נ"י פריוועס, ווארשא. There was a prominent rabbi in Warsaw at the end of the 19th century by the name Yishayahu Privas (see: http://www.zadikim.net/?p=2175). Presumably the owner of this book was his son. A person from Warsaw by the name of Yitshak Meir Privas, son of Yishayahu, is listed in Yad Vashem's central database if names of Holocaust victims, and that person was born in 1880 and was murdered in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1943. The next owner of this book, Rabbi Yaakov Ben Zion Mendelson, owned the book in Newark N.J. and passed away in 1941. Consequently the book must have made its way from Poland to Warsaw sometime prior to the Second World War.- Owner
