                "The inscription on the last fly leaf is written in Northern Italian. The adjective \"cativo\" is written with two \"t\"s signifying Italian that was used in the Po Valley which extended from Venice and on to Milan. It appears to have been written by a woman who uses the feminine form, \"certa\" and not the masculine form \"certo.\" Here is a rough translation: \"Most worthy...I have discovered two letters that your good soul has written to me. And I am intimately grateful about the young man. I tell you that I am certain [feminine verb] about the young man that he does not have a mean soul toward you...he is not your capital enemy...\" From what  I can tell this inscription was written by a woman to another person about a young man, trying to convince that third person that he is a good man. On the prior page (fly leaf) in the same brown pen is a drawing (see images) of what looks like a buxom woman with breasts and nipples upon which someone added a beard, (unless the ink blotch on her face and body were meant to cover her up, although her breasts are bare).\n\nFabrizio Quaglia provides this transcription and translation: “Deg.mo Zio semper hon.[oran]do Ho riceputo due ure [vostre (lettere)] dalle quale scorgio l’hauer il un il utro [vostro] bon animo hauete [avete] uerso [verso] di me, dil che ui [vi] si rende infinite gratie, circa il giouine [giovine] ui [vi] dico che so[n] certa nò[n] \n hauer animo catiuo [then it follows a totally crossed out word] uerso di uoi [voi] et altre nol me disse dice no hauer altro nemico capitale se non … el”. Here’s my simplified rendering “Dearest Uncle always honorable. I have received two letters from which I see the good feelings that You have towards me, of which I thank You very much. About the young man, I tell You that I am sure that he has no bad feelings towards You and he tells me he has no  greatest enemy except ... the”. I’m not sure of my reading of “honorando”. I also inform that “catiuo” has one “t” not two as in Modern Italian; on my opinion this text was not necessarily written in Northern Italy.\n\nThis copy is bound together with Masekhet Rosh Hashanah, Moed Katan and Ta'anit.";
