                "Two volumes, Massekhet Shabbat and Massekhet Eruvin are  bound together as one-- Columbia RBML's records note that this volume of Shabbat is the first ed., 1520, but Eruvin (Venice, 1528) is from the second printing which began in 1525. At the end of each tractate in this copy there is an index to halakhic decisions made by the Tosafists called, Piskei Tosafot; Maimonides' commentary on the Mishnah and the commentary of Rabbeinu Asher.  The second tractate, Eruvin, has the title of the Massekhet on the recto side of each page; the first tractate, Shabbat, lacks this reference to the tractate being that it is part of the first printing.\n\nAlso note that this volume (copy) is one inch smaller than volume 6 of the same \"set\" held at Columbia University. The bindings do not look similar raising the question of whether they were ever owned together and travelled together as a set. Compare the paper with latin writing on it used to bind volume 6 with volume 1. According to Michelle Chesner, the Jewish Studies Librarian at Columbia University, this volume was rebound and therefore was part of the original collection. \n\nThere are no handwritten marks anywhere, except for on the title page of Masekhet Eruvin where a list of the names and numbers of the chapters of the masekhet are listed.
