- Notes
- note the pun. Kushta in aramaic can mean question or oddity. Also it means Constantinople. So while speaking about a mistake which crept into the Nahmias ed. of Maimonides, so he writes לפום קושטא, according to Kushta, meaning -- according to our question, and according to Constantinople. It is likely that the early part of Kesef Mishneh was written while Karo lived in Adrianople, as that is where he began the Beit Yosef. See the note appended to the end of the Beit Yosef in Hoshen ha-Mishpat.
