This copy of Masekhet Avodah Zarah, printed by Emanuel Benveniste (Amsterdam 1645) is bound together with Zevachim and Menachot. The binding is also the same as volumes 1-28 and the signature on the title page of Avodah Zarah is the same as the rest of the volumes in this set, found in exactly the same place on the title page, right above the insignia. When this person owned this Talmud, they placed their name only on the first tractate of the now-bound volume--which is Avodah Zarah. Zevachim, however, does have an owner's signature, but a different signature from the one on the title page of Avodah Zarah. Menachot has no owners' signatures. It is also important to note, that like the copy of Avodah Zarah printed in Berlin/Frankfurt de Odor in 1730's and also held at Yale, "Avodah Zarah" is not printed on the tops of each page as a heading. It is therefore different from all of the other volumes printed in this set and also in the Berlin/Frankfurt de Odor set where the names of tractates appear as headings on every page. Was I not supposed to be aware of the fact that I was studying Avodah Zarah. Can you help?- Owner
