TU Rare Book Collection copy: Provenance: Inscribed in ink of a Sofer, or a professional scribe, on an adhered cataloging card to the top of the title. Transl.: Owned by ... Elhanan-Hennele (a Yiddish derivative of Elhanan) son of | ... the Dayan R. Netanel, may God protect him ... | of Fürth (originally), one of the [men who] study in the Beth-Hamidrash of the important R. Lemmele R.G. (=Rheinganum) | z.l. (=zekharo le-berakhah, i.e. may his memory be for blessing) in the Community in Mannheim. Below this, an ordinary hand inscription: " הקטן משה בלא"א יצ"ו הדיין הגדול מוה' אלחנן הענלי" - Mosheh b. Elkhanan-Hennele. These were owners who frequented the Lemle-Moses Klaus who eventually donated the volume to the library in the Beth-Hamidrash. - Lemmele Moses "Rheinganum" (1666-1724; surname derived from his place of birth, Rheingönheim near Mannheim), was a Court Jew and philanthropist in Mannheim who built the aforementioned Klaus for 66,666 Gulden bequeathed in his will; he was connected to the famous financier and Court Jew of Vienna, Samuel Oppenheimer (1630-1703). - The hand of the scribe wrote notes in the margins that were continued by the hand of his son, as witness to the format of the inscriptions on the title.
