TU Rare Book Collection copy: Inscribed on the first free-end: "חנני הי"ת בזה הספר | קניתי מהוני לכבוד צורי וקוני | וקניתי בק"ק פ"ב שנת כת"ר | לפ"ק | הק' משה בער שעהן | M. B. Schönn". Transl.: God has kindly granted me this book | bought with my money for the honor of God | and purchased in The Holy Community of P.B. (i.e. Pressburg, now Bratislava, Slovakia) in the year 1860 | Mosheh Ber Schönn. This owner has been identified; he is the addressee of the second responsa of R. Jacob Ettlinger; see She'elot u-Teshuvot Binyan Tsiyon (ha-ḥadashot) responsa 2. He is identified as a dignitary of the Wieden Synagogue in Vienna, dated 12 Tammuz 1870. This is unlikely a reference to the Stadttempel, being a synagogue of the Jewish-Reform prayer services - yet however the Stadttempel was commonly known as the Synagogue of the Wieden district of Vienna.- Owner
