TU Rare Book Collection copy: Inscribed on the front free-end: זה הספר שולחן ערוך שייך | [על"י באחמ"י?] הרב הגאון הגדול | בעהי"ס תפארת ישראל | אב"ד דק"ק חטאין | הק' משה מרדכי שור". Transl.: ' This volume [of] Shulḥan Arukh is given to (or owned by) | ['a.l.y. be.aḥ.mi, perhaps an abbreviation for עטרה ליקירי, language of one presenting a gift] the rabbi, great [in wisdom] | publisher of the volume [ba'al ha-yotse sefer] Tiferet Yisra'el | [the] Head of Court of the Holy Community of Khotyn| [from] Mosheh Mordekhai Shor'. Explanation of this inscription: The Shor family were prominent Rabbis and Talmudists in Volhynia, Podolia, and Bessarabia during the 19th century. The volume 'Aṭeret Tiferet Yisra'el', authored by Yisra'el b. Shelomoh Ḥarif of Sataniv (ca. 1696-1781), who was a prominent Talmudist and early Ḥassid of Israel Ba'al Shem (1698-1760) of Medzhybizh, was printed in 1865 in Lemberg (Lviv); the late printing of the volume was a cause for celebration, as evident from the numerous Haskamot in the volume. The financer and publisher was Mosheh Mordekhai Shor, and the owner of the manuscript was Avraham Yesha'ia Jaffe, both of Khatyn. This inscription was written by the latter to the former, contemporary to the printing of 'Aṭeret Tiferet Yisra'el in 1865.
