TU Rare Book Collection copy: Inscriptions in fountain-pen inside the binding in Yiddish and German. In Yiddish: מיין פאטער איזט געשטארבען אם כ"ה אדר תרל"א --מיין מוטטער זעליג איזט געשטערבען י"ט סיון. In German: "mein Vater ist gestorben am 18. März 1871" -- "mein mutter selig ist gestorben am 2 Juni 1885", Moses Moses. On the opposite paste-down, ephemeratic writing by the same writer, recording a home purchase: "Dieses Haus ist jetzt mit Hundert urs aus und neunzig Jahren alt 1889 | Moses Moses | Dieses Haus soll Bernard landhäuser | Moses Moses" - This house is now 190 years old, (now the year) 1889; This house is (of?) Bernard, landbuilder (?).' Another finding of ephemera inside the volume is likely of the same owner - a newspaper clipping (from 1918) mentioning 'Mr. and Mrs. Moses ... married 61 years Sunday. Married in Baltimore, January 27, 1857, and have always lived in Baltimore ... son Judge Jacob M. Moses ... 8 children and 18 grandchildren". If it is true that this is of the 'Moses Moses' above, it would mean that the German and Yiddish inscriptions were written in Baltimore during the years mentioned.- Owner
