TU Rare Book Collection copy: Original endpapers extant. Bound together (at the rebinding) with the title of Shulḥan 'Arukh : Ḥoshen ha-Mishpaṭ 'im ha-bi'ur Me'irat 'Enayim : Berlin, 1717 (שנת אני ה' ב.ע.ת.ה. אחישנה לפ"ק) published by Itsik Jaffe and Barukh Bukh-binder (Steinschneider, Cat. Libr. Bodl., 5940 : 86-87 ("charta maxima" variant). Title page is highly ornamental in an architechtural scheme, with the early black Prussian Order of the Black Eagle in the upper framing. The title also contains a dedication to "Friedrich I of Brandenburg, now of Prussia". Obverse with approbations of Jacob of Posen and Barukh Kahana Rapaport of Zolkiew (which at the time were both in Greater Poland). Inscriptions on the 'false' title: Menaḥem b. Barukh Bukh-binder (on the groundpieces of the double-columns); Pinḥas Bukh-bind[er] son of the honorable (כת"ר - כבוד תורת רבנו) Avraham Bukh-bind[er] (under the date-chronogram); Avrah'[am] Veiser (Weiser) me-k.k. Frankfurt (heading the architechtural title). German inscription on recto of false title: " lieferung buchs gesorgt innenseite | Wolff Köhln ost nun für Wilhermsdorf | su innen -- | ∞ | zust nun risenn zu Pfingsten"; transl.: 'book delivered to (or from) the inside | Wolff Köhln, now east of Wilhermsdorff (Fürth-Nuremberg area, Bavaria, Germany) | (I) saw inside --- | ∞ | now it is the Pentecost time'; this is likely a censor mark in which the censorship was performed for either a library or for the purpose of other Jewish ownership. Wilhermsdorff was a large Jewish community, which perhaps explains why it was mentioned "east of Wilhermsdorff", i.e. Fürth-Nuremberg. The infinity symbol and the Pentecost reference show that it was very unlikely a Jewish inscriber or viewer. Ca. 1750. - On 45-30-2018 Chaim Meiselman found the entire volume, and please click here to access it: http://footprints.ctl.columbia.edu/footprint/6615/
