- The author of the inscription gives the date of his(?) son's birth as Wednesday 6 Av 1661—though there is a problem with this date since 6 Av 1661 was a Monday, not a Wednesday. Can you help identify the provenance of this handwriting? According to Hebcal.com, 6 Av 5421 was July 31/Aug 1 1661. According to TimeAndDate.com, July 31, 1661 was a Wednesday, which would imply the child was born on Wednesday night, July 31. (Ben Kamine)
