- The flyleaf of the Hovot ha-Levavot features a poem signed by the Hebrew letter D.B.Sh. that probably means Dov Ber Schneerson. As the inscription says, it was written on the 10th day of the month Adar in the year 5648 (22th of February 1888) in Lubavichi. Though the handwriting does not look like the handwriting of the Fifth Lubavitcher Rebbe (Rashab), probably the poem was composed by him and written down by someone from the family.
