Offenburg suggests booklist might likely from circa 1482 based on the second item in the list that is a Pentateuch with commentary and targum. The earliest known edition like that is from 1482. However, that edition uses the term "defus" for print and our booklist maker/owner uses the Italian "istampa." Thus, Offenberg suggests the possibility of an earlier Pentateuch with commentary and targum and thus the possibility that the booklists dates to the period 1475-1482. (Offenberg, p. 47). Offenberg, Catalogue of Books printed in the XVth Century now in the British Library (BMC XIII), 2004, 20-21; transcribed by Birgit Mikus. msNote: Owner's inscription in an early hand on leaf 4[1].1a: ישראל בכמהרר יחיאל לוריא ז"ל (Israel ben Jehiel Luria). [Ed note: CERL lists Luria and the booklist as the same hand] From quire 4[7] handwritten catchwords have been added at the end of the quires in the inner lower corners. note: Part IV: on bound-in blank leaf at the front, a contemporary Hebrew list of manuscripts and two printed books (indicated by the Italian word 'istampa') followed by a list of goods in Old-Yiddish.- Owner
