- I could not make out the last two words of the pencil inscription. This is what I could read: זה הספר יפה מראה שייך לאדוני אבי מורי (ה)צדיק גמור חסיד וענו וכו' כמו"ה שלמה פלעסנער ? יאריך ימים דרשן פה ק"ק פוזנא ?? ??י

- The inscription was written by the son of the owner. The owner, שלמה פלעסנער, was the rabbi of Poznan (Posen) in the 19th century, 1843 until his death in 1883. (see JE, s.v. "Plessner, Solomon)
