Fabrizio Quaglia clarifies: At the bottom of f. [30]r there is the Italian signature “Isacco Vita Finzi del fù Jacob Pace”. On f. [30]v, the same hand signed, twice, יצחק חיים פינצי and wrote the Italian note “Scritto il giorno 15 Maggio 1848. Trovandosi la Città di Mantova in istato d’assedio e quasi bloccata” (“Written on the day 15 May 1848 when Mantua was besieged and almost blocked”). Finzi referred to anepisode of the so-called first (lost) Italian War of Indipendence when the Piedmontese army for several days besieged in vain the city of Mantua where the Austrian army was settled. Isacco Vita Finzi, son of the late Jacob Pace Finzi, died in 1870 and was buried in Mantua, cf. Il ‘giardino’ degli ebrei. Cimiteri ebraici del Mantovano, a cura di Annamaria Mortari [e] Claudia Bonora Previdi, Firenze, Giuntina, 2008, p. 93. This Ladino Mishlei has been digitized here https://www.nli.org.il/en/books/NNL_YBZ997012098063705171/NLI. I think that on the title page appears an Ashkenazic owner's note. The same person shortly glossed some pages.- Owner
