- Evidence description
- In the binding there is paper filling the binding that has yiddish written on it.
- Notes
- In this copy, the binding is filled with paper (that is crumbling) and has yiddish on it. At present, I do not have enough words to be able to tell when this material was printed. What I can say is that Masekhet Sotah (Bomberg, Venice, 1520-23), was rebound before arriving at Yale. Bomberg Talmuds bound in Venice often have parchment filling the binding and not paper. The Yiddish and the fact that it is paper (crumbling) also indicates a later binding. I invite others to look at the images to add information on the dating of this yiddish material. Can you help?
