- It is not clear when Sholem Asch acquired this volume of the Bomberg Talmud or even if he had a whole set. If he did own a whole set, he did not sell it to Louis Rabinowitz. His collection of Bomberg Talmuds that was sold to Rabinowitz is now at Yale and lacks many volumes. We do not know if Asch brought this volume with him from Europe or purchased it in the United States. We do know that he sold his collection to Rabinowitz in 1945. A date prior to 1945 is therefore certain.
