It has been rebound and the pages have been cut leaving very small margins on the sides of the pages (left and right). This represents a footprint, but I do not know who rebound the book and when. There is no evidence left of the original binding. The bookplate has a date of 1946 which is the date of acquisition. A note in the book states, "Miss Wynne, I don't know whether you need a donor slip for this, seeing that it fills a gap in a set that we already have. This is the treatise Baba Kamma (volume 20) of the Talmud. The plate is pasted upside down, and inside the wrong cover."This copy, vol. 20, did not travel to Yale with the other volumes in the set that Yale owns. This copy has many worm holes and looks like it was in a place where it was eaten. As such the volume is not in good condition. Inside the front cover there is a book plate that states, "FUND." I believe it was purchased separately with money allocated by the Kohut family, specifically the wife of Alexander Kohut, Rebekah Bettelheim Kohut. It did not arrive along with the original donation of books of George Alexander Kohut, Alexander Kohut's son, in 1915. There is no handwriting in the book that points to other prior owners of this volume and there is no title page, but it looks like it was from the first printing of the Bomberg Talmud.
