- This imprint is an artifact from the Hapsburg Rule under Joseph II. This is the first edition. The book is a question-and-answer work Judaism for use in Pia scuola normale ebraica a Jewish primary school in Triest, Italy that was established in 1782. This school taught state and religious topics and provided instruction in German, Italian, and Hebrew. This school was financed by the local Jewish community. This book was authored by Rabbi Simone (Simcha ben Abraham) Caliman (1699-1784), who was also the first translator of Pirke Avot into Italian.
