The following long inscription appears on the inside front cover. (תקכ"ה?) (?)לפ"ק The owner's name and location appear again below this inscription. The Hebrew includes a date, possibly before 1734 (the last numeral is not clear) as according to the census of Casale Monferrato, David Pavia died in 1734 at 43 years old. According to Fabrizio Quaglia he was an agent for a company of brandy.
