Information for this footprint comes from Fabrizio Quaglia: On the back flyleaf, unattributed cursive Hebrew purchase note, Italian script התיקון הזה קניתי ביום שלישי י''ד לחודש טבת התקכ''ד כ' דיזמרי 1763 בעד ד' ליטרות על ידי מרדכי גאוסטלה (“I bought this Tiqqun the third day 14 Ṭevet 5524 20 December 1763 for four lire by Mordeḵay Guasṭalah”); גאוסטלה is wrong for גואסטלה. The owner of this book of prayers to be recited at times of perils, used in his note the word Tiqqun (lit. “Rectification”). It bears a kabbalistic tinge and, in fact, the volume includes the הים תפלת Tefillat ha-yam (“Prayer of the sea”), being a Kabbalistic prayer by the eminent Catalan rabbi Naḥmanides (1194-1270) for travellers going on a voyage.- Owner
