Information for this footprint comes from Fabrizio Quaglia: Inside the cover were glued and bound the slightly cropped pages 21, 7-8 (at the beginning) and 10, 19-20 (at the end), (strophes XIX, VI, V, XVIII, XVII, VIII of a total of XXIII), of a poem composed by Pellegrino Salandri (1723-1771), entitled Il passaggio felicissimo per Mantova di sua altezza reale madama Isabella infanta di Spagna sposa acclamatissima di sua altezza reale il serenissimo arciduca Giuseppe d’Austria (Mantua, Per l’Erede di Alberto Pazzoni, 1760). The pagination is slightly different from the edition and there are also some textual variances. We can guess that these pages come from a copy edited in Mantua by the same printer as shown by the fonts he used. For honouring the visit of Isabella of Bourbon-Parma (1741-1763), the Jewish Community of Mantua enlightened the ghetto (as it was narrated in the anonymous Nel felicissimo passaggio di sua altezza reale Madama Isabella, infanta di Spagna &c. &c. meritissima sposa di sua altezza reale il serenissimo arciduca Giuseppe d’Austria &c. &c. &c. per la città di Mantova Illuminazione del ghetto degli Ebrei di detta città, Verona, 1760, xxiv pp.); Salandri alluded to this episode in strophe XI of his ode. On the added p. 7 of Il passaggio felicissimo, and on the title page, Hebrew numerals 2. 133 ג''קל' ב should correspond to shelf-marks of Samuel Vita Dalla Volta’s library.- Owner
