CJS copy inscribed with births of a former owner Mosheh Tassel, inscribed by his son Feyes (inscription, front flyleaf: "זה הספר שייך להקצין כ"ה משה טאסל, ממני הכותב ה"ק פייס בן ר' משה יצ"ו"); range of births from December 1796 until May 1850; inscriptions in Hebrew and German. Addition: Some of the inscriptions contain hiographical information. Juda Tassel, born 20 Av 5566 (1806) fell deathly ill on Friday, 6 Tishre 5568 (1807) and recovered, and upon this his parents (Moshe?) vowed to never allow him to wear red-dyed clothing until his Bar Mitzvah and to fast on that day. Another son, Mosheh, was deathly ill between Yom Kippur and Sukkot 5569 (1808) and his parents donated to charity on that day, as they couldn't fast (Jewish law); another son, Zalman, was deathly ill on the Sabbath, 6 Adar 5574 (1814), after which his father accepted that this son should dedicate to studying.- Owner
