Fabrizio Quaglia clarifies that the Polish censorship stamp “Cenzura Ksia Zyd” is “cenzura ksiąg żydowskich w kom: rząd: wyzn: relig: os: pu:” short for “cenzura ksiąg żydowskich w komisji rządowej wyznań religijnych i oświecenia publicznego” (“Censorship of Jewish Books at the Government Committee of Religious Affairs and Public Education”); He adds that according to the website Schätze aus der Breslauersammlung in the black round Polish stamp “KAL:KSIA:ZYD GR:SR:L.” KAL: is referred to the city of Kalisz, KSIA to Książka (“book”), ZYD to “żydowskich” (“Jewish”), SR could be the initials of District Court (in Polish “Sąd Rejonowy”); a crowned eagle is depicted in the middle. Schätze aus der Breslauersammlung thinks that this book stamp probably belongs to an old library or synagogue of the ancient community of Kalisz, now disappeared, and is a very rare testimony to its existence .
