A 20th century inkstamp at the foot of the title page reads, "Printed in Poland." This intentional mislabeling was frequently used to avoid import duties that might otherwise be due on books printed elsewhere. On the exemption of duty for books printed in Poland, see: Commerce Reports, Part 2, issued by the Bureau of Foreign and Domestic Commerce, United States Department of Commerce, JULY 6, 1935, No. 27, p.84. (https://www.google.com/books/edition/Commerce_Reports/NJI1I9wzpiEC?kptab=editions&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjMgp_upMGAAxXEFVkFHePMB-IQmBZ6BAgOEAg) Though this source is dated 1935, the exemption of such duty was almost certainly in effect when this volume was imported into the United States by Israel Perlstein and sold to NYPL in 1930.- Percent complete
