Fabrizio Quaglia reads the following Italian note: “adi 27 de Lulgio 1558 Jo [?] // Smeralda da fano gia molgia de mi [?] Jacob heb[re]o io duno questi 4 liberi a m.[adonna] Frescarosa mia cogina p[er] i soi figlioli co’ pato ch[e] no’ fazeno alquno contrato” (“On 27 July 1558, I, Smeralda from Fano, formerly wife of Jacob the Jew, donate these four books to my cousin Frescarosa for her sons, provided they do not stipulate any contract”). You may see the same note reported in קרית ספר.
