- Evidence description
- Arnould Vrolijk and Kasper van Ommen, eds.
- Notes
- December 1600 letter and copy sent from Jean Thumery in London to Scaliger in Leiden, commenting that Ferdinand's unfinished translation "was too bad to publish." (Vrolijk and van Ommen, pp. 40-41). not clear whether Scaliger received book and translation from Ferdinand and sent them to Thumery in London for comment; slight possibility that book and translation were given to Thumery in London by Ferdinand before he left England for Leiden and Thumery decided that Scaliger would be interested in the nachlass of Ferdinand.
