Van Gulik, p. 319, says this is one of two copies that Reuchlin had sent to Erasmus. The other was meant for John Fisher. Erasmus sent that copy to Thomas More first. later on the list of books in Erasmus' library compiled circa 1536-1537 and noted as sent to Baron Jan Laski in Poland in December 1537, fulfilling earlier sale of books from 1525. bound with Ruechlin, De verbo mirifico, Tuebingen, 1514 which Erasmus noted was sent to "Ex dono autoris." Van Gulik notes that is not clear whether both books were sent together or whether they were sent at different times and bound together by Erasmus.- Owner
