It is the Mishnah Bava kama with a Latin translation and Latin commentary by Constantinum l'Empereur of Opwyk (1581-1648). It was printed in Leinden in 1637 and once belonged to Robert Proud (1728-1813), who then sold it to none other Thomas Jefferson, who then sold his personal collection to Congress in 1815. This copy is one of earliest Hebraica and Judaica items in the Library of Congress. If you look at two of the photos, you will see in highlight Thomas Jefferson's initials - on one page is the letter "t" and the other the letter "J" Also - What is incredible is that this is part of the 1/3 that survived the December 24, 1851 fire that swept through the Library of Congress that destroyed 2/3 of Thomas Jefferson's personal literary collection.
