Thanks to Fabrizio Quaglia for deciphering this one: לה' ארץ ומלואה אני הצעיר יוסף הרטום (“The earth and all in it belong to God. I am the young Yosef Harṭom”). Giuseppe Artom (Yosef Harṭom) was the son of Beniamin Sanson and Dolsa Jarac. He was born in Asti (Piedmont) in 1755 and died there on February 4, 1813. Giuseppe Artom was a rabbi and circumciser in the same town, where he performed 96 circumcisions between 1781 and 1812. In 1780, he married Bona Ricca, daughter of Beniamino Segre. Giuseppe was also a shopkeeper and during the Napoleonic era, rented a house on Via degli Israeliti in Asti (cf. The Jews in Piedmont; edited with Introduction and Notes by Renata Segre, II, Jerusalem, The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, 1988, doc. 3151; ELENA ROSSI ARTOM, Gli Artom. Storia di una famiglia della Comunità ebraica di Asti attraverso le sue generazioni (XVI-XX secolo), Torino, Zamorani, 1997, pp. 78, 116, 153, 169). Compare his identical signature on top of the first page of the fourteenth-century kabbalistical ms.
