I write thus, Avraham ben R' Menahem Mosheh, my teacher --- my purchase, Abraham Helbrengen Calish of Falkenburg. The Calish family were Amsterdam merchants, some of whom were scholars. Moritz Calish was a great artist about a century after this inscription was written. Note that Calish likely doesn't refer to Kalisz in Poland (generally associated with it), it may be an ancient French name, referring to Châlus (in a Judeo-French parlance). The family had no ties to Poland that are known, but did add it as a suffix before place-name (Abraham's likely cousin was Isaac Marcus (Mordekhai) Calish Copenhagen, born in Copenhagen 1749-Amsterdam 1810, and so the family custom was to put the location the individual was known by following the name "Calish" - hence Heilbringhen.
