In July of 1963, Fredrick R, Goff was investigating the Vollbehr copy of the SMAG, as he did of other incunabula held at LC. He inquired of Myron Weinstein about the inscription in the memo. It was around this time that Goff was preparing his book "Incunabula in American libraries" published in 1964. (This note in Goff's publication is not mentioned in Stillwell.) Part 2, leaf 22/10b has a bill of sale written and signed by the printer Gershom Soncino on its blank rear endpaper (mounted on a later leaf, with a window cut through to show the bill of sale.) It was issued to one Moshe ben Shmuel Diena on 25th of Tevet (29 Dec. 1488.) 1 leaf laid in. Has inscription, leaf 22/10a: signature of censor Luigi da Bologna, 1602. Wanting Part 1, leaf 1/1 (blank.) Part 1, leaf 1/2 inlaid. Lines struck out in ink. Minor marginal ms annotation. A similar copy with censor strikeouts appears in the catalogue of Ludwig Rosenthal's Antiquariat in 1912. In full calf. Acquired with the Otto Vollbehr collection in 1930.- Owner
