                "Kislak copy formerly owned by Jacob (Espir) of Prague, sojourning in Carpentras (inscription, front free end). Purchased from David of Jarosław. \n\n קניתי מהוני לכבוד צורי וקוני מהרב האלוף ר׳ דוד מיערסלאב זה שמי וזה זכרי יעקב בן הרב אביהעזרי מפראג : ולע״ע החונה פה קארפינטראץ יצ״ו היום כ״ג  \n לחודש מנחם לפרט ולסדר כי בגלל הדבר הזה יברכך השם בכל מעשיך ובכל משלח יד״ך לֹפ״ק\n\nNote that since this doesn't properly add up as a chronogram, I'm only using the highlighted letters of ד״ך - 24, 1764, 23 Av = Tuesday, Aug. 21, 1764. \n\nJacob Espir (really Speier, Speyer), son of R. Aviezri, dayan of Prague (1701? - 1778) was a rabbinical figure who was brought in to the communities of Spanish Jewish in the French Papal States, moving from Prague to Avignon and settling in Carpentras, opening the Talmudical academy there. He was an ancestor of Adolphe Crémieux. \nJacob's son, Elia Vitta de Espir, was a member of Napoleon's Sanhedrin and his daughters married into the Sefardic Provençal famillies - Cremieux, Monteaux, and married family included families of Attias, Saint-Paul, and Cavallion. \n\nSee: https://www.cairn.info/revue-archives-juives1-2003-2-page-139.htm\n\nSon grand-père paternel, Jacob – fils de David Crémieux [Carmi en hébreu] (1684-1754) et d’Esther Naquet – avait épousé à Carpentras, en 1760, Eston [Esther] Ispir (Avignon, 1741- Nîmes, 1798), fille de l’éminent rabbin Jacob Ispir dit Ashkénazi (1701-1778). Ce dernier était venu avec ses parents de Prague au début du XVIIIe siècle pour assurer des fonctions rabbiniques d’abord à Avignon puis à Carpentras où il fut appelé, chose très rare pour un étranger, à la présidence de l’Académie talmudique et à celle de la confrérie des péritomistes. Il tint, mais sans continuité, les registres communautaires de la carrière (ou ghetto, messilah en hébreu) de Carpentras. Son charisme et son érudition lui valurent d’épouser en 1730 Rachel Crémieux (1712-1774), l’une des filles de l’honorable Johanan, originaire de Carpentras (1674-1750), fils de Sem et de Colombe Carcassonne (1686-1749), native de l’Isle.";
