Unlike some of the other Merzbacher incunabula today in Frankfurt, the volume at hand does not have a short title in Hebrew inside the front cover. However, there are notes in German and Latin on the recto of the front flyleaf, which appear to reflect the development of the bibliographer's thinking. He originally wrote ″Levi ben Gershon, Perusch | Comm. in Daniel | s.l.e.a. (um 1480)″, then changed that to read ″Mantua s.a. (vor 1480)″ and added ″de Rossi″ as his source. This conclusion corresponds to the information given in Rabbinovicz's catalogue of Merzbacher's collection (Munich 1888), no. 2582 (דפוס ראשון קודם רמ); it also appears inside the rear cover of the present volume. It is tempting to suspect that the notes on the flyleaf (and perhaps all of the respective pencil notes in this and the other volumes) were written by Rabbinovicz himself while he was preparing the catalogue. - See image at: http://sammlungen.ub.uni-frankfurt.de/5094225, http://sammlungen.ub.uni-frankfurt.de/5094309- Percent complete
